Well we are now in our 4th state.we are in Texas and we have now travelled over 1000 miles. No incidents overnight so we were able to leave the hotel by 9.15.There must be lots of scrotes around because you have to pay for the gas(petrol) before you fill up the car.Hope you have noticed that we are picking up the lingo.
We have had a really good day today, although thank goodness the car has air con as is reached 100F at times . We stopped at a really good Route 66 Museum, see pictures.Yes we have been there done that and yes we have the t-shirt,also the hat, magnet, metal sign and the pen.So we have made our 1st purchases.Just before the Texan border we went through a ghost town called Texola, where everything is now closed down and derilict after the closure of Route 66.
Finally before we got to the hotel we went to Palo Duro Canyon State Park.It is a much much smaller version of The Grand Canyon, but it did give us an apetite of much grander things to come.it was amazing.
