We went into downtown Chicago today where we met a local volunteer who took us on a walking tour of the points of interest. it lasted about an hour and started at the Cultural centre.Which is a beautiful building which has two domed ceilings one of which was made by Tiffany & co.We then went to see the point where Route 66 begins and as you can see we had to take a photo.Fingers crossed we will have one showing the end.A lady on the tour told us to take a water taxi which was $2 and it showed us the skyline from a different angle. We were going to go up The Willis Tower,America's tallest but as it was zero visibility we decided not to.It had an elevated skydeck which was glass so it would have been a very strange experience.Dave said my sense of direction has not improved.Lets hope Gordon the Garmin is better because tomorrow our adventure really begins as we start to get our kicks on Route 66.
