Our Year of Adventure
We had to go out the hotel to the restaurant below our room for breakfast. It was no real hardship and the food was good for Peruvian standards - eggs, ham, toast, juice and coffee.
We finally resolved the booking problem with F1 Hotel through Booking.com even though they initially said they had spoken with the manager and he said he was expecting us to arrive in the afternoon. The emails coming back from the hotel were from somebody else.
After the essential chores of booking accommodation in Huacanchina for Thursday and putting some clothes to the laundry, we walked to the Artisan Market. We bought some warm jumpers and hats made of alpaca wool, getting ready for cold in Bolivia.
It was agreed yesterday that we would have lunch at Edo Sushi and we met Andy and Carlee there at 2pm. We didn't have a table booked because it was lunchtime and we got a surprise when it was full, we had to wait 15 minutes until a table cleared. Japanese restaurants are always on the expensive side and this place was no exception but we were all craving for sushi and sashimi. There was a very good reason why the restaurant was so busy, the food was stunning. We let the chef prepare a set meal with his choices of sushi & sashimi and it came back with an amazing selection. Everything was so delicious that David couldn't leave without trying their Tempura Battered Ice Cream, it too was very good.
A little further up the road from Edo's was the Cacao museum. We piled in their for a quick 3 minute brief of the making of their chocolate in order to get some free samples. Not only did we try dark, milk and white chocolate but we were also offered a Pisco based chocolate liqueur. After all the tasting, we went into their cafe for a big mug of very tasty hot chocolate.
