Our Year of Adventure
We needed a lazy morning after all the early wake ups of the past few days so we didn't bother with the alarm. We slept late and just managed breakfast at the hostel before they closed.
Afterwards, we packed our bags and left out some stuff for mailing home like our snorkeling gear. We got a large box from the nearby supermarket and with a pair of scissors and a few metres of duct tape, it was fashioned into a more reasonable sized parcel.
We went to California Cafe for coffee and lunch, primarily because the coffee was good but also because we knew we could hang out for the afternoon in comfort. Unfortunately, the Internet went down in the whole town, just when we had to book our accommodation in Lima. Carlee and Andy had the same idea, they joined us a little time later in the cafe.
Once the Internet returned, we booked F1 Hotel in Lima at good price, especially for Lima, but got an email from them straight after asking us to cancel due to bathroom problems. In the end, we had to book in a far more expensive hotel.
We grabbed a pizza for dinner at El Horno, on the way back to our Hostel. We changed into warmer clothes for the night bus and walked a couple of blocks to the bus terminal.
The 10pm Cruz del Sur bus has two classes and we opted for the better of the two. The lower deck of the bus has 'Cama Seats', they are wider seats with a bit more incline, with individual entertainment screens which even had internet and Facebook. After a quick snack, it was time to sleep - that was the main reason for the fancy seat.
