We left Koh Samui on Saturday 3rd Jan to make our long 10 hour trip by boat and bus to Ko Phi Phi. I must say, it was well worth the trip. We stayed next at the Oasis guesthouse which is right in the heart of all the best bars especially the Reggae Reggae bar and a stone throw away from the lovely beach you see in this picture with a beautiful clear lagoon. We spent 4 days in Phi Phi mostly sunbathing. On monday 4th Jan we went on a really lovely boat trip all around Phi Phi and the surrounding islands where we went swimming, kayaking and snorkelling in the sea. We even snorkelling with sharks!! The boat trip lasted all day and took us to Maya Bay 1st on Phi Phi Ley where the film 'The Beach' was filmed, we then saw a viking cave set into the cliffs, we then sailed onto Shark Point where we saw a small reef shark. We then went onto Bamboo island which was just stunning and lastly we stopped at Monkey Island and chilled with the monkeys. The trip cost 700baht each (about 14 GBP) and was well worth the money.
One of the best bars we went to was the Reggae Reggae bar which was rather expenisve but very amusing to see drunk people get up and try to fight each other by doing Muai Thai boxing. 2 fighs that stick out are our friend Bre fighting some Ozzie girl and Bre kicked her ass and another with a drunk dude fighing a man that purely knew Muai Thai boxing and only got in the ring to hurt him which the crowd didn't like but the drunken man got his own back in the last round where he kicked him to the ground and started pummeling him which was hillarious and the crowd was on his side - good lad!! The actual Muai Thai boxers were brilliant.
Today we have got a ferry to Phuket where we are staying the night in a beautiful hideaway guest house with its own pool and veranda and is just a stones throw from the beach. Tomorrow we are catching a flight to Bangkok where we will contibue our journey........
