We'll travel anywhere to escape Brexit
Returning to Mae Hon Son was our stepping stone back to civilisation; cars, shops, people etc...
Checking back into Sarm Mork we are welcomed warmly by the owner. We are quiet excited by the prospect of a hot shower, a bed, and most of all a western toilet. Although Sarm Mork is a basic guesthouse we feel we are in relative luxury - who needs 5* hotels?
Legs, knees and hips shot from the 3 day trek we head off for a much needed foot massage; sorry Kirstin we know you don't like us mentioning the many, many massages we are having so we have decided to call having a massage 'doing a Kirstin' when referring to it in this blog. For those of you who don't know Kirstin, she is our neighbour. Kirstin and her husband Alex travelled around the world for 3 months last year. Thailand being one of their stops; kirstin especially became partial to a massage or ten while here.
A 3 minute tuk-tuk ride back to the airport the next morning, and an 11.30am hop to Chiang Mai where we will be staying in the old walled city.

Alex and Kirstin So happy to get a mention!! Feel like a celebrity and I would definitely be getting out of there and "doing a Kirstin"! You did however fail to mention the best travel tip of all for SE Asia "doing a Suzanne and David!" I think your followers need to be passed on this information. To cope with the heat and humidity... feign interest in buying a cool drink from 7-11 shops, open the fridge to cool off and restore your equilibrium! Well done on your epic trek, what a fab experience. LOVING the blog. xxx
david142 That explains why we couldn't go into the local 7-11 yesterday - 'you've let the cat out of the bag', we are going to have to do a 'Suzanne and David' in disguise! xxxxx----Original message----
helensimm We are very impressed but Lulu wants you to know that steep walls and trees can be done with your eyes shut. We don't think you should try to compete with her. Oh, and by the way. she wants to know if you came across any of her wild cousins. You might see them sleeping as it seems to be her main lifestyle feature. Dad
david142 Hi Dad, nice to see you are enjoying the blog. Please let Lulu know that we shall soon be visiting a national park that has a few of her cousins roaming around .Lovely to get your post and keep em coming!David and Suzanne----Original message----
