We'll travel anywhere to escape Brexit
After all the horror stories we had heard about Koh Chang being too touristy we were beginning to think we should have tried a Cambodian islands after all, but, thank goodness, this was all about to change.
We moved straight away from Bang Bao and after a quick trip to Agoda on the internet booked in to the Ramayana on a bay on the busier west side of the island. By 10.30am we were looking a lot happier, great room, pool, hourly truck to a great beach that was shared with another hotel and wonder of wonder it was not too touristy, there were not lots of Thai girls with big fat dirty old men and we were very happy.
The beach is stunning, about 2km of powdery white sand and very shallow and calm water laps up to the deck chairs and is edged by coconut palms and casarina trees providing shade.
We both chilled, got out our books, and suntan cream was liberally slapped on... yes it was such hard work. We have worked out quite hard for the last three days with going across the beach to Family Restaurant for a cold beer and some delicious Thai food. With having to walk right out some 30m or so to get the water to lap around and cool us down so we do deserve lots of sympathy... ha ha its lovely here and wish you were here.
A full day of tripping (no not that type) today with a boat to some islands and snorkelling sites at Koh Mak and Koh Rung south of Koh Chang. We had a great day and ate a lovely lunch on the boat with a great guide called Nok and a team of very friendly crew.
One more day of beach life then back to the big city, no not York, we have two nights in busy busy Bangkok after a ferry and bus back to the capital.

Gilli I am soooooo jealous! It looks amazing - so beautiful and serene...and so do the two of you! I'm sat at my office desk writing this, trying to get my brain functioning again...and now daydreaming of sunnier climes! Hope you have a fantastic last few days, lots of love xx
david142 Nice to hear from you, and yes I must say it was a lovely island. We are now in Bangkok after traveling all day. The hotel is amazing. We are getting our heads around coming home, I know it's going to seem a bit strange to begin with as we have been away so long and seen so many things.Anyway I hope your well and happy see you soon.xxxxxxxxxxx
