.........chilling in Kovalam
This morning we drove 4 hours south to Kovalam. On arrival our final hotel was perfect - beautifully landscaped albeit with a resort like feel.
I thought I would make the most of the facilities and decided to have a full massage... On arrival I was ushered to a room where a well dressed gentleman stood.
"Take off your shirt" he said. I'm comfortable with this, I thought. "Take off your shorts". I obeyed nervously, as I began to wonder whether I should have stayed with Dave in the lounge.
Ok, so now I'm standing in front of Indian Tom Selleck/Magnum.... In my Superman pants. "Take your your pants", he ordered. There I was, standing, starkers... Feeling very vulnerable. I glanced to look at the clock... How long was this going take??....then... Magnum quickly tied what I can only describe as a very thin bandage around my particulars in a 'sumo' style. Trust me, this was not a good look. Moving on swiftly, the massage was almost certainly the best I have ever had.
Fully rejuvenated, we decided drive 8km into town where we walked along the bustling restaurants overlooking the Arabian Sea. We joined 2 young Indian lads from Toronto, Samson and Rick for dinner which consisting of fresh fish, dhal and calamari masala. We like it here!

.........our last day.... Kovalam
Wow! We can't believe that our two weeks are almost up. Time does fly when you are having fun!
A perfect end to a perfect trip...the rain has stopped, the skies are blue and the sun is shining brightly. We had the best part of 18 hours to lounge around as no tours or crazy car rides had been planned.
The morning, after another great breakfast (masala dosai and all the trimmings) we took a lazy drive to the beach and spent the last of our rupees testing our negotiation skills to the limit as you can't take any currency out of the country.
Mike found someone who rented surf boards and went Hawaii Five Oh! I supervised from a distance whilst in the bar!
Next, a few games of pool, dinner, a couple of Kingfishers and two hours later...home!
See you all soon!!
