Well had an interesting day, just back from a tour that included a trip to Litchfirld National Park to see some waterfalls & also a Jumping crocodile cruise which was insane. I thought I might get the chance to feed some crocs, that it would be fairly well supervised & that there was little or no risk to humans, how wrong I was. We didnt get to feed crocs, only the rangers/guides which to be honest was grand with me as I had no intenion of going near a 5m angry 50 or 60 year old croc.
Basically the guide took us out on a small enough speed boat, it held about 20 people, when she spotted a croc, she slowed down, tangled a piece of meat over the side of the boat & waited for the croc to come closer. When it was close enough, she teased the croc by moving the meat up & down forcing it to jump out of the water. The crocs were right beside the boat & with the power they have it was a scary experience. We were told if anyone fell in they were on their own & that they wouldnt be rescued, nice, but you'd be dead in seconds.
The cruise lasted an hour & we saw about 5 crocs, one massive one , the 5m one I mentioned above. It was a cool start to the day. I'll upload photos soon.
After & before lunch we visted some National Parks, saw some waterfalls, impressive enough but not a patch on Niagara but then what is. The sun was beaming down, my arms have been well & truly cooked. Darwin is a cool, spot, definetly worth a look, its very different to the rest of Australia, a mixture of the aussie outback, aboriginal & asian culture.
