So Antigua is quaint, kind of like a Guatemala version of Oaxaca. After an afternoon of flying we shared a cab with a nice chap from Seattle and got out of Guatemala City, we heard it wasn't worth seeing and in the way out we could see why. Can't believe there live of fast food, huge places, even a Taco Bell... Weird.. Anyway an hour or so later we arrive to cobblestone streets everywhere and lots of great coffee and amazing chocolate. Something to do with Mayans apparently:) We arrived in town quite late so headed to our hotel and hit the hay. In the morning we went for a quick stroll around and checked the town out. The town even has a strict policy on signage so all shops need to comply and can only have a small tasteful wood or metal sign.. There's a Citibank and a subway here and it's funny to see there tasteful signs. It's a nice touch.. There's a bunch of volcanoes around and during our first day we had a look at the various options.. Luckily we didn't book. Jess started feeling pretty crook, similar travellers symptoms to my last day or two and after a night out at a French restaurant and absinthe bar things got bad.. Anyway, Jess soldiered on for a day and we decided to head to lagoona atitlan, to a place called San Pedro. An epic mountainous 6 hour mini bus ride ensued.. Amazing views.
