Needing a haircut and ahem, a renewing of colour, Shirley had an appointment in Cronulla; Dave accompanied John and Arlette to Tai Chi and he found it both relaxing and enjoyable. A few hours later we met for a long leisurely lunch at 'Anna's Around the Corner' - a book lover and foodies dream, this is a cafe where you are greeted by name, surrounded by books and simple fare prepared fresh for each customer is a big hit as far as we're concerned.
Refreshed and rested it was on to the Discovery Centre located in Discovery Bay and on the sight of an important Aboriginal settlement whose peace and rhythm of life was disrupted by the arrival of Captain Cook et al. Much has been done to try to atone for the errors of generations of white settlers but the accepted view is that what was done cannot be undone. Meanwhile in Botany Bay, the sea breaks on the beach as ever it did, and ironically the airport lies directly opposite across the Bay and travellers come and go as ever.
