Cenotes! went to very cool string of cenotes (big sinkholes) yesterday- was given half a line in the guidebook, but was a brilliant day. The village had put in rails between all the cenotes and made loads of mini carriages which were pulled by horses. Yucatan doesn´t have any rivers, so cenotes are very important for water. One of them had a massive tree right above it with roots growing right down into the water...

Arrival in Mexico.... Well, after a long day of flying from London to Houston. Then from Houston to Mexico - we finally arrived in the beautiful city of Merida in the Yucatan Penisula. Checked into an amazing hotel (see photo) which is right in the centre and has the much welcome bonus of a rooftop swimming pool. It is super hot here, pushing around 35 degrees throughout the day, and barely dropping during the night. Took Dave all of half a day to get sunburnt...
