So the time had come, my last destination on this amazing trip, I was off to Ireland.
Flying Ryan air I was a bit worried about the whole airport thing, either being stung for extra baggage, or them overbooking the flight! However it was one of the smoothest flights and check inns I have ever had – all for a mere total return of £22!
As I arrived in Dublin, I received a text of Katie, saying she was going to be late! Typical Callery, never can get her timings right. However who was waiting for me, when I got through customs etc... None other than Miss Callery, she looked great! We caught the bus back to her house in North Dublin. She had taken the afternoon off, as well as the next day to show me around, which was nice. Katie is working in a training department for a company who look after cranes; it was so good to see her. And honestly I’ll remember the hug at the airport for a long time. The next two days were cool, we had a lovely dinner in Temple Bar, and a few drinks, and even got to visit the Guinness Factory, which was cool (I had my first ever Guinness and it was lovely, drinking while overlooking the Dublin skyline) and it has a great sky bar. Dublin is not the prettiest of cities that’s for sure, but still very friendly on the streets.
Niamh and Brian who I met on the Whitsunday’s came to collect me from Katie’s and I visited Greystones, where Niamh lives. It is gorgeous down there (just south of Dublin) with quaint little pubs and a gorgeous coastal view. Niamhs and Brians families are so sweet, and hospitable to the end. It was so good to see them again; they are really fun and a great couple.
