So we were picked up from the Island, via speedboat and taken back to the ferry, which was taking us downwards towards the main island. Obviously I wasn't stopping there though, so it was onto an Island in the middle of the Yasawa group called Naviti, at a resort appropriately named White Sandy Beach. Upon boarding, I bumped into Rachel from New Zealand who was just getting off, she looked well though, enjoying Fiji time! Ooh i forgot to tell you about Fiji time! Fiji time is when something doesn't happen on time...they are so relaxed about it, instead of saying it will happen don't worry! they say "Fiji time". It also works as a chill out - stay in a hammock its Fiji time! I want more of it....
Anyhow who else do i meet on the ferry none other than Tom, and where is he heading? Surprise White Sandy Beach. So I lost James but gained Tom. As we approached the Island, the Beach just looked amazing and some sholes of fish flew out of the crystal water and back in beside the boat. Something I wish I had my camera for! So as we arrived we were greeted with a Coconut milk (yummy) and a Bula song. Was wicked fun! This place looked and felt very welcoming. With the sun beating down as it was always, Tom and I decided to dive straight into the sea and explore the reef. Not as amazing as that of the lagoon, but still beautiful in its own right. There was an extremely strong currant in these waters to, and it was taking all my power to swim across it. We did find an underwater ledge that was to be the bain of my existence for the next few months (it seems!). About 10 feet down an opening to a natural swim through cave. I tried and I tried to conquer it but kept bailing out, then when i eventially did it my foot got trapped and I was stuck! Natural instinct use the other foot to dislodge the coral, nice work, I was free and no longer in danger, apart from the huge scar on my outer shin, bleeding into shark invested waters and the fact i still had to make the rest of the cave! I made it without any trouble, but had to get back to shore quite quickly! Something I'll remember by the scar I am sure!
After lunch and dinner, i chilled in a hammock by the ocean, watching the sun disappear into the ocean and the sky light up red, like i was in a tropical paradise! hold on rewind...I am in a tropical paradise and its awesome! The food here is fantastic, the people are so friendly and that night was one to remember.
