LUANG PRABANG
The first day we got out some Bikes out and just rode around the town on theses really stupid Bikes & took advantage of the Bells when we seen all the other Travellers we met on the Boat. It was a good way of getting around and sussing the place out. The place is really nice, quiet, & clean & we basically biked around along the Mekong & Nam Khan Rivers then got a bit lost - haha & I fell off whilst trying to take a photo of Phil & Brad which was not funny :-)
Whilst during the days we watched the Sunset from the Phu Si Temple high above LP & this was the best I have seen. (See the Pictures) We went to the Tat Kuang Waterfalls which was the multi-tiered Waterfalls tumbling over the Limestone formations into a series of cool turquoise-green pools of which we all dived off & out of the trees. I really enjoyed this day as you can see from the photographs.
On the night's we went to the Lao Lao Beer Garden which was the most popular place because of the Tiered Garden & centre-piece fires & decent tunes. It may also be because it was happy hour from 7- 10pm for all cocktails & it was only 10,000 kip which is approx. 1 pound 50 (cant find pound sign haha) a drink!! We also went to Hive Bar which is a bit like Hide Bar in Yarm, nice but expensive.
They were about 10 of us out each night & we were told that all Bars shut at 11pm except for the Bowling Ally which is open until everyone leaves so guess what..........yes we went Bowling Both Nights. Before we went I was saying that I brought my own Ball, Glove, Shoes with me cos I heard it was the best Bowling in Laos & they believed me so I took it a stage further a told them I played for England - haha. Some were more gulable than others. Bowling was a good larffff & my tequnique was amazing but my score was not - haha!
Got so much to tell you but its 6.30pm here & I am meeting everyone at 7pm so I will update you on Vang Vieng, Vientiane & Four Thousand Islands when I get a chance - they are funnier stories!!
