Woo Hoo! Landed in Bali and after a mission of getting through the airport jumped in a taxi to a town called Saminak. Hostel really random location, got dropped off then had to walk through a pharmacy and a clinic, bizarre. Day after we arrived was valentines day so treated each other to some well deserved BEER. The first being from the supermarket and while it poured down on the street we just sat at the tables infront watching the world.go by. Seminak was a cool wee place to wander around loads of shops, bars, cafe's and every second shop is a massage place. We ended up in a restaurant that had kareoke so, "vide killed the radio star" was obviously done. Met a few folk back at the hostel and the result was a night on the tiles and a moped taxi at some point.

Done a tour around seeing the Kintamani Volcano and went to a coffee plantation to try the worlds most exspensive "lewak coffee". A wee lewak eats the red coffee beans and then poops them out, personally claire b's coffee machine is better lol! Then went to the rice fields -admittedly they are man made - they are an awesome site, different levels of field in what looks like a crator.

Stayed in Ubud another wee town on Bali and went to the monkey forest where Darren got a high five and a few cheeky wee monkeys jumped onto out necks, they had the softest hands ever, so cute.

Before heading off stayed in Kuta for a couple more days, weather wasn't so great so to cheer ourselves up found an all u can eat bbq with the added bonus of the first hour being free pour beer :-)

Thailand Island Hopping

Phuket

Flew to Phuket with not the best start as taxi driver wanted double the fare he had asked for once we arrived at our hostel, the door was locked so we couldn't even get in. He got all angry and agressive and after a prolonged stand off he finally left, but he scared me and I didn't want to stay cause he knew where we stayed. So jumped a tuk tuk to the next town and that is how we came to in Patong , which also happens to be widely known for its sex trade. The same goes all over the world that you can avoid that side of it, which we did, but can't not notice that the majority of visitors is pervy old men finding Thai women decades younger for a holiday romance. Anyhoo we had a great time, days between the beach and the pool and eating loads of different street food, even found ourselves a wee local for grub who had the best satay.

Hired a moped, which Darren crashed into another moped before we had even left the car park haha! Minus that blip Darren was the driver cause the roads were mad and I was a better passenger and Darren was a better driver - only time ever though. Went to Phuket Town, which was nicer and quieter so we wished that's where we ended up. Then headed to the Big Bhudda and got ourselves a wee blessing from a monk and a rope bracelet. The views over Phuket were stunning as well as the views in general driving around.

Ko Lanta

After a boat ride over, arrived at Ko Lanta and it is such a gorgeous island, we are staying at Klong Nin Beach which is so quiet and not very built up so usually only a few dozen others around at the beach. I got to be the moped driver today because its quieter here and not scary lol! Headed south to the National Park and done a wee nature hike and to see the lighthouse, again sounds repetative but it was stunning. Had a wee dip in the parks beaches before heading north to Saladan, its the main area of the island so just wandered around the having a nosey at all the hussle and bustle.
