this place is amazing and totally random. we couldnt find a cheap flight into thailand so we've had to stay here longer than planned. its so cheap anyway and full of wee cafes playing friends, family guy and blockbuster movies so its easy to kill the day. the whole village is based around going tubing in the river we went yesterday and its madness. you hire a tube (so like a rubber ring) and get a tuk tuk (funny taxi thing) to the start of the river. then there are just loads of bars all along with swings and zip lines at the them. as you go down the river people from the bars throw you a line with a ring or a bottle on the end and pull you in then you have some beer or a bucket haha! we met a couple from australia and had a good laugh with them, there was a mud pit at one of the bars and so after a wee tug or war we had a massive mud fight for ages it was brilliant.

darren attempted a back plip off one of the swings and it didnt go too well. he landed on his side but when he came up he got a round of applause from the guys at the bar who felt his pain ;-) we had to get some painkillers to fix him up but i think he's going to live.

heading to luang prabang tommorow for a few days before another lovely day long trip across the border back into thailand.

luang prabang was cool just a tiny wee town with a cool night market with loads of beautiful local silks and paintings and stuff. we went on an elephant ride too, it was at the tad sae waterfall and the elephant walks around it with youb on its back. it felt as though we would fall off when it was stepping up or down and its got really bristly hair on its back too so that was weird. the waterfall was stunning and we got to go for a wee swim afterwards too ;-)
