Stopped at Rudesheim. While we are on our excursion this afternoon they will be putting Perspex protectors over the portholes. This is because they have to add ballast to make the ship sit a lot lower in the water so that we fit under the bridges in the next part of the cruise. This morning berthed at the side of the Rhine close to Cologne Cathedral. Had a look round it and then just wandered about the streets. Off to lunch now. Boat berthed here this morning and after breakfast had a walk down to the windmills. Very picturesque. At 11am set sail for Cologne. On the way passed some cows sitting on the beach. That's a first. Worried sick when we got to the airport. The queue for bag drop was awful. At 6.10 got taken to the front of the queue fortunately. Finally got to security at 6.20 and boarding was supposed to close at 6.30! Then I beeped going through the scanner and had to queue to go through the full body scanner. Was worried sick.
