Today started off a bit slow. We had a good time last night with Peti and Peter:) We woke up around 8:30 and ate a lovely traditional German breakfast - bread, meat, eggs, and coffee. After breakfast we took another hot shower! (we used to take it for granted-not anymore!) We then walked up to the Wednesday morning market just down the street from the house; it was very neat. We walked through the market to the travel agency where we were able to reserve our seats on the ICE (Intercity express) for our first train trip to Frankfurt tomorrow. We will be leaving around 11:30am and get to Frankfurt at 3:30pm. After the travel agency we walked to the old church that Leigh's dad used to run in front of (he knows why) and took many pictures - it was very nice. We came back to the house to get our jackets so we could begin our trip into West Berlin. We took the U-bahn (underground trains) a few stations up where we caught a bus that took us into the city. Danny and Peter napped on the bus because they had too much fun with Jack Daniels last night...oops! When we got off the bus we walked past some break-dancers to an old church that was bombed during the 2nd World War. Danny grabbed a quick bite to eat at one of the local currywurst stands-very good!! The old church was cool becuase it was only a single tower still standing and a new, modern church was built around it with 12,000 staind glass panels. It was very beautiful. We walked through the KuDamm (Mr. B's old hangout when he was a teenager) then took the U-bahn to the KaDaWe. The KaDaWe is a lot like a glorified Macy's...only it is 100 times better and more expensive! After walking around for a few hours we jumped back on the U-bahn to head home (we took the U1 to the U7 which brought us from the middle of West Berlin to a few streets away from the house). When we got back we were all exhausted so we took a nice 2 hour nap before we headed to dinner. Around six o'clock we left to go eat at Abdul's restaurant. It was very good!! Leigh had Cordon Bleu (pork) and Danny had the Mixed Grill (a combination of lamb, steak, pork, and chicken). After dinner we came back to have our Skype conferences. We will most likely call it an early night since we've been going hard the past few days.
When we get to Frankfurt, hopefully there will be wifi for our laptop and we will be able to upload all the photos we took this past week.
