And so it has already been ten days and we must say goodbye to Ko Samui. The last of the Thai Islands but not the last of us lying on the beach doing very, very little I fear.

It was very sad indeed leaving Ko Phangan as it was my favourite part of the trip so far, and it didn't seem like we had spent nearly long enough there. None the less, the next leg of our trip started well and on the ferry over we made a knew chum! Craig! Nice fellow. In Thailand for just a week and so we spent our first two nites crawling the bars of Chawen and our first two days ... asleep. On the first nite out we found our way, somehow, into an Irish bar with a free Jukebox so we took good advantage of that. On the second nite we returned to find that the jukebox was not an option. Instead there was a live band. An AWESOME live band who just seemed to do covers of all the great bands on my i.pod! There was Led Zeppelin, there was Lynyrd Skynyrd, there was AC/DC and there was the mighty C.C.R. That was a very good nite. Also the base player was the spitting image of John Lennon! But, you know ... Thai!

Both places we have stayed in on the island have been stunning. Both beach bungalows. The first was set into the cliffs and looked down onto a rocky beach. The second (in lamai, further round the coast) is literally five feet from a beautiful golden beach. Oh I'm sorry ... PRIVATE, beautful golden beach! With sun loungers, coconut trees and tanned people of which I do not include myself.

Lamai has been a great stopping off point. We are a five min walk from the main street of the town which has everything we need. ATM's, resteraunts, bars and shops. The absolute BEST thing about Lamai though, no doubt is the amazing night market. It is made up of 15 or 16 different stalls, all food or drink related. Three nights out of six we have eaten from here, and I have never eaten so well. Or so cheaply. Pad Thai, Currys, Pizza, Seafood, Thai appetizers and assorted kebabs. Washed down with the best fruit shakes we have had. And we have had a lot.

Ten days is long enough though and we are ready to move on. I can't personally take walking down the same street any longer with the same people offering me "cheap suit for you my brother, very cheap price" or a "massaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!?" I need a little break from that. So it is off to Krabi we go. Leaving tomorrow morning at 8:30.
