So after four days in the capital of Thailand I thought it was about time everyone was updated with our goings on. It feels like we have done loads (not all of it entirely sober). The first couple of days were pretty good, even suffering from jet lag. We walked around, got the feel of the place, only had to turn down the offer of a custom made suit from every OTHER store so yeh ... good times. We rode a took took around the city stopping off at all the main temples and sights. The 100ft tall Buddah was pretty eye catching, and we have had some absolutely lush food: Pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken, prawn rice and chicken sattay. All good stuff.
Last nite we spent down Khoa San road, enjoying a few cold ones. We met up with a couple from Australia, Tim and Leanne. Ended up spending the whole eve and many beers with them ... long story short, we are visiting them in Newcastle, Aus just after we get there! The four of us were also joined by a Scottish lad travelling on his own and beers soon turned into the local Thai whisky ... in a bucket! We got back to our room about 2am and have taken today very, very slowly.
Tomorrow we are up at the crack of dawn to catch a train north to Ayutthaya. Over the next few days we are moving north bit by bit until we reach Chiang Mai where bamboo rafts, elephant rides and trekking awaits.
Another update soon ... Peace out
