Since I last wrote from Tassie a couple of months ago, I've been in the same place, but a few things have changed. I am no longer picking strawberries (thank goodness!) as i got a job in an apple packing shed back at the end of March, where I've been working ever since. It's much better than picking strawberries because we get paid by the hour and it doesn't involve too much bending over, although it is quite tiring sometimes packing apples 8 hours a day.
Back in April I went to Melbourne for a weekend to go to V Festival, which was brilliant! I met up with a few friends who i did Ozintro with in Sydney for the gig and saw Duffy, Elbow, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and The Killers. It was a really good day, the weather was ok considering the day before it had completely chucked it down in melbourne!
Since then I've been here in Tassie, still at the same hostel, packing apples everyday. Gradually more and more people have left (including Laura who is now in Adelaide with her boyfriend Richard) so the hostel has got pretty empty. I bought a share in a car that I half own with Julie, an Irish girl who works at the same place as me. We were going to sell it just before we leave, but last week we had an accident and wrote it off! Don't worry, I'm fine and everyone else in the car is fine, and we didn't hit anyone else. The only casualty from the accident is the car, and our wallets because we now can't sell it!
I finally leave Tasmania tomorrow to go back to the mainland and start travelling again. I'm flying to Adelaide and then doing a tour up the centre of Aus to Darwin, so hopefully I can cope with the heat after being in freezing cold Tassie for so long - it's like winter in the UK here at the moment! I'm looking forward to travelling again, though. I think I've forgotten how to after being in the same place for 4 and a half months!
