Dearest Dee!! How art thou? Are you joining the celebs?........ we are all waiting with bated breath... hence the silence from us all .....and if you can get sponsorship etc........Please tell! Having another look at teaching English is a great idea and getting back here for Christmas with Cat ( hello Cat!!) sounds even better!
Autumn is well and truly here again ; piddling with rain all over fat red rosehips, yellowing leaves and blackberries - I have to tell you the blackberries are very good this year!! Gav is staying at present as his house sale has gone through and he and Morgs are homeless but with their eyes on a pig pen near Diss .... so they may have a new house ( piggery!) this time next week.... ooh er !! its all go here!
Have spent this week doing some much needed house maintainance and putting things back now the builders have gone. Kitchen looks huge! really good so am very pleased . SC, Jack and me are off on the boat to Stoke Bruerne for a week tomorrow so Gav will be house sitting - sort of- til I get back....and I will talk to you again then .
Think of you continually- as usual- kisses and hugs, Ancient Mater xxxxxx

Darling boy, how are you? Schools are back and I dont know where those six weeks went. Had a fab time at home and in Cornwall, lots of sleep sunshine and swimming. Went back to work this week and some of my gardens look very Piet Oudolf (look him up), very pleased with myself. Katermawina just went back to NZ last week after a pretty awful visit to UK, I'll let her tell you why but she is looking forward to your visit. Neil had another birthday last Saturday (apparently he is supposed to have one EVERY year) so get a card in the post now! Got him a surprise massage and meal to relax him cos he has had a very tough three weeks or so. Abigail and Kelsey keep growing; said to Abi last week that I had decided not to let her get any older and she said "der, hello? what is the point of being a six foot 9 year old?". She had me there. Looking froward to seeing you very much. Love, love, love.

Dearest Dan-i-ole,
Narr, was you sick.sick.sick?!! Hope alls well now. Get yourself up to that Sunshine coast and take it easy in all that sun...Great to hear that you are having to beat off the sheilas with a large gnarly-type stick. Helloo to the new and mysterious one. This may well be the last missive I send from Newcastle, as the flat is sold and people keep ringing up asking "when the hell're you gettin' out of there?" It will be sad to leave but there you go. I've been doing a week of night shoots on a thing called "Lawless", starring Trevor Eve. (Morgan says he's a scat-fan, but I think she's talking poo..)
So am a bit in sync with the hours you have been doing, not a lot of fun really, eh?
Looking forward to when you are coming home. When is that exactly?! Really very big hugs indeed, Gav-gav xx
PS Helloo to the wonderful Katermerweener from me and Tiger and Toad

Morning darling boy, hope you are well and fing. Sunday morning here and Kran-Kran, Kelsey and I are waiting for Neil to cook us up a fry-up..you know you want it! Cup of steaming tea, sausages, bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes and toast, yum! Well it is like Autumn here at the moment with torrential rain and major gales (a friend to colonel sunshine). Alex, Gianni, Eve (my god daughter) and her brother Gianluca (14 months) spent the night here last night and go on to an eightieth birthday bash in Cambridge in a minute. I was asked last night to be godma to Gianluca too, thrilled but how many Porsches can a woman afford on a coming of age? Count down now for the summer hols with just over a week to go and I can already taste that Cornish sea air and pasties and beer and crab sandwiches and winkles and ice cream yadiyadiya! See you soon as, love me. Thats an order!
Katermawina In Nz
Hello Danny-oh,
About to wing my way over to Blighty (next Monday, 12th July) and remembered you were considering coming over to Aotearoa, Land of the Long White Cloud....
I will be back after September 5th, after which time you and whoever would be most welcome to come and stay. Hey, Lyn would even be happy to put you up even if I'm not here - but I'd be TERRIBLY disappointed if I missed out on seeing you!
It's a wee bit chilly-willy chez nous right now - got the stove stacked with wood and me fingerless gloves on as I tippety-type, and a rug on my knees, a la granny. Everybody thinks that, as I'm a pom, I am used to the cold - but no way, Reginald! Looking forward to summer in the UK.
And Looking forward to seeing your cheeky-chappy smile and hearing your multiple witticisms!
Hope you're kicking it massive,
Kate xxxxxx <-----(big wet sloppy big sister's friend kisses)
Mum
Okay!! So I'm writing.............more about Cat please! and some piccies too.....hope you tum is better and the nurse well rewarded....nuf said!!
Having a wall in the kitchen knocked down end of July and noticed that the ceiling in the bathroom above was bowing .......and if the wall came down with all that weight......oooooh!! so have spent time shifting loads of gear out of the attic and distributing it about the ground floor...so if the house does fall down I shan't be hit on the head by tons of old computers, boxes of computer mags, record decks, speakers, saxaphones, tents, books.......spent hours reading all your old school reports... what a skivver!! Still, when the wall is down shall be able to see the garden which is looking rather good even if I do say so myself!!
Spoke to Queen last night and she sends her love... So dearest Childer, I must go get off..... talk to you again soon Your loving and missing you muchly, Mum
Dad
Hi my lovely lad! So what's next after Ikea? (Is there life after Ikea?) It was the longest day of the year yesterday - midsummer - and today it's blowing a gale and pissing with rain! After so many weeks of sunshine we need a drop of rain, everything is so dry. I'm off with Glenn etc for a cruise round southern Ireland on friday for 10 days. I suspect a lot of Murphys will be imbibed. (is the Pope a catholic?) After that I have a fair chunk of work with ITN in July and then it's August and Falmouth & Fowey weeks. I have some good friends who live in E.Doncaster. I'm sure they'd love to say Hi if you were in the area. Pam & Bern Dunton, 29 Morinda Cresc. E.Doncaster 3109. Melbourne. (haven't seen them for 35 years!!!) Go on - force yourself! Hope the weather isn't too awful - I remember Melbourne can be pretty wet and chill at times in the winter. Lots of love to you, Dan. We in Cornwall are looking forward to you regaling us with tales of your adventures whenever you return - Dad
SC
Hi Daniel D...been a bit remiss from posting messages lately..BUT all news and photos from you are avidly digested and drawled over...keep em coming!!!!No news here except I now have a high stockade with searchlights, barbed wire etc etc all round the garden..BUT I am planning an escape!!! Jackaroo sends a woof.. Keep snapping...all the best SC.
Muther
Well!! Dearest D !! enjoy your last few precious days with Ikea......you'll be able to look back and tell all your grandkiddies that they were the happiest days of your life...etc etc still, I expect the cash came in handy!!? No earth shattering news here except that Gav has another offer on his house so that looks like it all on again.....cross fingers this time that all goes smoothly .... Sun is once again OUT so I'm scurrying round with teaspoons of water for garden plants whispering " don't die yet, it'll rain next week - promise..!!." Put four ghost koi in my pond a fortnight ago and haven't seen them since.. they have either moved on ..... do you remember how fish used to rain down ( c'mon rain!!) from the sky and flip about on hot concrete.. ooooh ! ......or they are gently rotting in the blanket weed... anyway I keep sprinkling fish food and the waterboatmen love it!! How big do waterboatmen grow? Anyone? All my love to Marlene and tell her what a wonderful vanwoman she is for looking after you so well. kisses and hugs amillion, your loving Mama
