It's cold!
In Italy the weather will never get below 30 degrees F. In fact, it will start at around 35 and work its way to 70 by the begining of April leaving me with an extra month of summer next year!
I have my class assignments for the spring semester at the villa. I will be enrolled in the mandatory 16 credit load required for the program. These credits are made up of four classes that include Introductory Italian, Writing in Italy, The Anthropology of Italy and the Mediterranian, and the fourth will be Florentine Renaissance Art. Writing in Italy will be more of a literature class that will cover books written by non-Italians such as Under the Tuscan Sun. Florentine Renaissance Art will be in the classroom on Tuesdays and out at museums on Thursdays actually viewing the work that we discussed earlier in the week. I'm very excited for it all.
On top of 16 credits, I am taking a 3 credit independent study course for studio credit that will require me to journal my experience abroad. This site is the medium through which I will communicating with my professor back in Madison. I will be uploading photos, sketches, videos, and will continuously write about my experiences. Some of my entries may seem strange for that reason, but I am sure you will all enjoy them anyway.
Italy is getting closer, only three weeks away!
