Found a caravan park which had a pool, jumping pillow, and playground, to ensure the kids were entertained, and give a greater chance of Halloween participants. Had a hot day for our visit to Kalbarri NP and Nature's Window. Flies were back in force, and the kids unhappy with the 500m walk to the lookout. Got a photo though, and headed home for a day in camp. Decided to extent the stay, and plan to arrive in Freo for the weekend. Kids made friends with 3 girls...

Had a nice camp site with ocean views which was great. Wind persisted in being an issue, so that didn't make swimming very inviting. Girls got to feed the dolphins on day one of our stay, which was a highlight, closely followed by the playground at nearby Denham. Got to visit the stromatolites at Hamelin Pond, the 40°artesian bore spa at Francois Peron homestead, and Shell Beach.

Decided to do a quick one night stop at Carnarvon. Was still very windy, so we stayed mostly around camp, only leaving to take a drive to the closed 1 mile jetty, visit Chinamans Pond, photograph the big banana, and stock up on groceries and Halloween treats for the kids. The trees on the main drag had grown bent which testified to the windiness of the place!

Coral Bay was just as windy as we remember from 6 years ago, but we all still loved the closeness of the beach, and no need to drive for a few days. Did a glass-bottom boat cruise, which was great for Alex as she still refuses to use goggles or mask in the sea. No turtles were spotted but some really good snorkeling and days searching through the corals. The girls met a long lost friend from 80 Mile Beach so spent as much time as possible at the park playing. ...

A long drive to get to Exmouth but not many places to stay in between there and Karratha. We were happy to be by the coast and looking forward to some snorkeling. Plenty of "do not feed the emus" signs at our caravan park to warn us of roaming visitors. We didn't take much notice until one Emu came pecking at the girls toys during breakfast.
