From Phoenix to Sedona

Today our trip took us from Phoenix to Sedona. The scenery was amazing. We went from landscapes filled with cactuses to highlands covered with grass and beautiful rocks. We started of in Phoenix. Our first stop was going to be at the Watson Lakes.

Watson Lake

When we arrived at our first stop the kids who we had to pay and point us to the parking space told us there was a hippie veggie festival going on. So there might have been peace but it wasn't at all quiet. They also told us that due to the drought the water in the lake was very low. Still we thought it looked amazing!

On the road again

We left Watson Lake to go to Jerome to see the Gohst town were the Gold Rush used to influence everybody who came there. The ride there was just as awesome as the previous ride. So many different sceneries that I didn't know where to look and what to shoot. Ended up with 600 photos that day. In the ghost town we met some awesome characters. The old man we met had amazing stories and such a beautiful head. I could have kept shooting him al day. Just like all the old "junk" that was in the ghost town. "I even panned me some gold it tell ya!"!But we had to see another spot. :(

Montezuma Castle

So with tears in my eyes ;) we left the ghost town and went to Montezuma Castle it was 16:55 when we arrived. It closed at 17:00 so we didn't have to pay to get in and had to rush to see the castle. The website told us this:

But what a let down. Americans do know how to advertise though :D But who am I to judge. I didn't really like it but maybe you will. The thing I liked most was the sign that warned you that you couldn't take in any guns :D
Last stop of today
After our Japanese style visit we took of to go to our last stop and the place we were gonna stay the night. Sedona lies at the foot of the famous red rocks. Most of you might now them from pictures of the states or movies involving cowboys and indians. We arrived just before sunset and those rocks looked amazing. The hotel was awesome too!
