Its our last day in Sydney today and off to Singapore later. We are both very sad to leave such a brilliant city.
We decided to come back to Sydney before going to Thailand as the 5 days over new year was pretty manic and so this time we wanted to relax and enjoy the city at a slower pace and see more of it. It really does have everything, and the best part is it's laid-back feel and the fact that it's not over populated so no rush hour traffic, no queues, no waiting to get served, friendly helpful staff wherever you go and above all a city with beautiful beaches easy to get to!
The last 5 days have consisted of kangaroo pizzas at the Australia bar drinks at the blu bar at the top of the Shangra La hotel which has a great view of the city.
Meeting up with Graham and Katrina who live here and had lunch with them at Bungalow 8 at Darling Harbour. Was lovely to meet their very cute 3 yr old son Charlie and new 9 week old baby Harry too. Me and Dan then spent the rest of the day at the Opera House bar! Was great just people watching, and whiling away hours sitting drinking and eating with the view of the bridge and Opera House right infront of us, had the company of bats flying above the city too!
We went to the Fish Market one day and bought lobster and prawns and then to the botanical gardens full of quite scary looking birds and home to the bats! Yesterday was on Bondi, armed with 30 factor sun cream this time and Dan nearly got taken out into the Tasman sea because of the strong current! All in all it's been a great 5 days in Sydney and still loads we haven't done. Hopefully we will be back again one day.
Have loved Sydney n after my surf experience (see the pics) feel like I belong here! Have enjoyed the best Bfast. Pizza n fish on our trip so far here n despite being a city not seen any trouble...people drink slower n are generally more relaxed. All in all it's up there with London which is something I never thought I'd say n like Bex it would be great to live here!
