We arrived at Bikaner with the hope that it might be just a little bit of a step up from Mandawa, oh how we were wrong. Yes it was bigger, more busy and possibly a bit more to do but the stench was unbelievable. The plan for the day was to go and visit the fort that resides in the town, so we headed over there in the blistering heat we might add (36c +) and did our thing. It was 100rs in and then you had to PAY to use your OWN camera, cheek of it. The fort itself was impressive, boasting some really beautifully decorated rooms in gold with a number of the doors being in solid silver, which were behind glass and you could not touch, they had that sorted at least. After the fort we got a rickshaw into the old town, this was to prove a big mistake. I think we stayed in the town for all of 20 minutes before having to leave due t the overwhelming smell coming from every angle, what with the heat too it was unreal, so we told our driver to high tail it outta there pronto to somewhere with a lesser smell of cack, oh the joys of travelling.
