Day 27- Mon 4th

Today we headed for Taupo and the huge lake. Filled ourselves up on porridge and fruit and took the coach for our journey to our day's activities. The others did the rock n ropes but I decided to do the Huka Jet as I'm scared of heights even in New Zealand! The huka jet was like a hovering speed boat that took us down the river and to the Huka Falls which was an amazing waterfall. Along the way the driver did a few twists and turns and some 360' spins which were quite fun and I got a little bit wet! Got a lift back into Taupo and I spent the day walking round the shops and the lakes whilst the other girls finished their activities. When they had got back we were taken to our next hotel, the Lakelands. Got straight into their spa pool…well for at least 2 minutes. The pool was absolutely boiling and there was no way anyone could have stayed in it for very long.

In the evening we went on a boat party, it was funny watching the others get wasted before 8pm! We had a small buffet and a bit of a dance whilst the boat took us around Lake Taupo. It dropped us back to shore quite early so the tour all headed for a local bar to carry on the partying. I forgot to mention that this party had a 'beach' theme so us three were dressed in our lifeguard t-shirts…we looked good!
