Fantastic photos - very clear and great close-ups. You saw more than we did in the Masai. Glad it all went well despite the cold. We had very cold mornings but then it warmed up rapidly. Hope New Zealand isn't too boring after your Africa adventures! Good luck with the flight. You'll be an old hand at this travel malarky soon Phillipa. What a doddle an hour will be in Australia!

Great photos. So good to see that you are still smiling too. Not sure how long you'd put up with your current comforts if you were in Oxford. That hut looks decidely dodgy. I hope the food's OK and that P is managing to stay veggie with all that meat around you! Arsenal just beat Man. Utd!! Dad (G) xx

Hi Phil & Dan - At last managed to work out how to look you up! Nice photo - might work out how to look at the others eventually! Hope you continue to have great adventures even though it doesn't sound like 5* accommodation out there.
Match sends a lick too!

Hi again both,
It was great to see your next set of photos and it all looks amazing still. Don't think I would have gone up /or down that mountain! The coming "down" looks really scary! You must now be up in your tree house and hopefully seeing the big "5". We only saw 3 / 5. Didn't see rhino or leopard (or is it cheetah?) Anyway I hope you are having an exciting experience.
We had an enjoyable few days in France although Lucy and Chris's house was right out in the sticks. Nothing around except 2-3 farms! And it snowed! Very unusual for Oct apparently but we drove slowly in the tyre tracks to visit a market town. By the following day it had melted. Cold and grey here still. Roll on Australia! Keep thr photos coming!

Hi both of you
Thank you for all those wonderful pictures and the lovely long message - it was all worth waiting for! South Africa looks amazing and you both look very relaxed and happy and are clearly having a great time. I'm so jealous that you've seen whales and penguins.
Every time Miles comes through the front door he says 'Phillipa Garson gone aeroplane' so it was lovely for him to see you in the photos although I have to say that he was actually more interested in Erica's new teli most of the time but he did like the penguins.
Can't wait to see the next lot of pictures and the next instalment of the adventure.
Love Mum xxxxx
Sarah And Adam
Hi there
Photos look fab! It took me as long as it took Ad to clean the BBQ to look through them all (brilliant!). Hope tour no. 2 is as good as the first. Can't wait for the next installment.
Have fun,

Hi both,
Just looked at all your great photos. Drank a large cappuccino while seeing them all! It was good to see you are OK. You both look very happy and well and as if you are having an amazing time. You have certainly packed a lot into the 2 weeks. All that planning was obviously worth it. Glad to see the vests are being worn Daniel! You seem to have stayed in some interesting places. Sarah said you are not slumming it as much as she and Holly did.Not missing anything here - wet and chilly today.. Dad and I off to France this week to stay with Lucy and Chris. Stay safe and keep enjoying yourselves. Maybe you too will fall in love with Africa.

Table Mountain was closed??? How do they close a mountain?
Anyway, FANTASTIC photos!! Your blog has already acheived it's purpose of making us super jealous! Looks like you guys are having a blinding time, so keep enjoying yourselves and try not to get eaten or anything.
(Also, the photo of the two tortoises going at it made me giggle for like an hour)
