Day 73:
I woke up about 10am and jumped down from the penthouse. The girls were still a sleep, so I just mucked around on the iPad. The girls eventually got up about 1pm. As the Internet was playing up, we tried connecting but all it kept saying was that there systems were down, (so annoying). We eventually set off to a place called Colac which was about 1 hour drive west of Geelong, we drove for about 20 minutes and I was feeling tired, I said to Danielle does she fancy driving for a bit and she jumped at the idea. She was driving for about 5 minutes and went over a brow of a hill and there was an accident, with loads of police there, so I shouted pull over. She pulled over and I jumped out and checked to boot to pretend there was something wrong with it. I drove down the hill and the police officer came to the window and asked why we stopped at the top of the hill? I said it was because we could here a banging noise at the back of the van and the officer said ok, on your way. (Danielle was absolutely s***ting her self by this stage). By the time we waited for the road to clear and get to Colac, it must have been about 6pm. When we got there everything was shut. All we done in Colac was watched about half an hour of a game of bowls, which wasn't really fun for the girls. We decided to drive down to the great ocean, which was around 70km south. We probably drove 30/40km down the road and then came to a national park and it was just starting to get dark, as we entered the national park tho speed limit was 40kph and sometimes only 20kph. It was the worst road I had ever driven on. There were sharpe bends in the road, loads of sticks and tree branches on the road, about 100 meters sheer drop and the road wasn't even wide enough for two car to pass each other and to top it of a wallaby jumped out onto the side off the road. (Other than that the road was really nice). Once we were through the national park we came out onto a really high mountain and then had to drive down that. We eventually made it down to the great ocean road, just east of Apollo bay. Then we had about 106km to drive back to Geelong. The drive took about 1hour and a half, and the road goes all the way along the south east off Australia, we only done about one third of it. On the way we saw a koala bear just walking up the road. After driving in and out all the cliffs along the great ocean road we then came onto the freeway and it didn't take long once we got on the freeway to get back to Geelong, we grabbed a McDonalds on the way back and then as we were parking we saw a possum dead in the middle of the road, the girls got out and moved it to the side of the road and discovered it had a little one but unfortunately they were both dead. We then found a place on the side off the road and settle down.
End of day 73.
