HERE WE GO:
We were meant to leave home at 3pm but as normal we didn't leave until 4.30,pm we still had plenty of time though! we didn't have to board until 8pm. We finally got to the airport and that's when it hit home that we were going for 6 MONTHS and weren't going to see any family or friends! But hey it will brake or make me.
We all walked in the airport (Danielle, Leanne, Mum, Jackie, Paul, and myself) with Nanand G-dad racing each other behind us on their crutches trying to catch up with us all. lol We went and checked in, the bloke asked us for
our passports, we put our passports on the desk, the man then asked how many bags we had so I said 3 and put them up, he put all the stickers and stuff on them gave the girls their passports back, mine was still on his desk! I said what about mine and he said "Oh I thought you said only 2 people were going" so he had to do all the stickers again, as he had already checked the girls in they were sitting together and I was on my own!
We were looking for somewhere to eat in the North Terminal we were having no joy! so we decided to board, Mum didn't want us to go because we didn't have to board until 8pm! Paul found out that there was food places down stairs, so we went down the escalator and that was funny watching Nan and G-dad on it! We ended eating in Uncle Joes, the food was nice! we were all having a laugh and photos were being taken and then the time had come for us to board, everyone was emotional and some were crying (including me)! we said bye and walked through security, still waving bye, we all went through ok, (even Danielle and she says she always bleeps).
We were all on our own! no one to rely on but ourselves, the girls had to get some last minute things like make up etc, we went to board the plane to Dubai, we got on and the two girls were near the window and I was stuck between an old miserable lady and a lady who didn't stop nagging her husband (reminded me of Nan and G-dad), sorry Nan but had 6 and half hours of this)! so take off all went ok, then the pilot came on and said "you can take off you seatbelt and use the tv" (we all had our own)! I got the speakers and put them into where I thought they went! I couldn't hear it, wasn't until Danielle said "you plug it into your arm rest" I had been putting it in the plug socket! (what a twat).
Had a little bit of turbulence on the plane but it went well,landed safely!
