Dan and Lu's Travels
Checked out of hotel and sat in the vegetarian restaurant/cafe outside. We met an hilarious guy who was with a Vietnamese wedding party (wedding was next day). He introduced us to his friend, Mr Cao Tai (no idea about spelling). He was a professional singer and was going to be singing at the wedding the next day. He was very mysterious with dark glasses on. He sang 'When I Fall In Love'but was really just speaking with a heavy accent. very funny. The other guy gave us some Vietnamese tea and explained that we had to drink it with chopsticks, before breaking into cackling laughter. Mr Cao Tai announced that he could tell us what day of the week any date past or future is. So we tested him endlessly and he was correct within 3 seconds every time, including leap years etc. It was pretty clever. The other guy just cackled and pointed chopsticks and said 'he is not human'. Absolutely insane people!
Got on the bus for Hanoi at 6pm. Typically horrid journey. Highlights included; a foot in dan's head, someone being sick into a bag, a guy sleeping in the aisle, a cold cold wind blowing from the roof (not through air vents, I think there was a hole) and a Malaysian girl who looked like a trout kicking off.
Got to Hanoi at 7.30 am.
