Dan and Lu's Travels
Last day in Vietnam before heading to Cambodia, so, in no particular order:
Vietnam
* The food hovers between perfection and revulsion, but is always cheap.
* The scenery when travelling is beautiful, you would miss so much by flying, even if trains and buses are a chore.
* People are so friendly, they always seem to have a smile on their faces, although there seems to be a hint of sadness sometimes. But they are always welcoming and helpful.
* The pace of life is at once frantic and relaxed. There seems to be a lot of waiting around, lots of people going about their business slowly or just sitting about in the streets, but also the contradiction of the traffic and the noises and smells means your senses are always stimulated.
I've not met one person who doesn't say they love Vietnam. But interestingly their repeat tourism figue is a fraction of Thailand's, which is a shame.
I don't feel like I've seen anywhere near all of what the country has to offer, and we've been here a month.
We love it!
