Dan and Lu's Travels
We sat on the beach then swam in the sea until about 3pm. The only other guests here left earlier so we have the place to ourselves, apart from the owners and their extended family, who are all really friendly. Walked to the the local village, which is a few wooden houses and two shops. Those fabulous shops full of dusty things piled high, all quite random, like a pound shop but dustier and more intersting. I got some watermelon, Dan bought a razor which at first looked like a childs toy, bright orange chunky plastic. But on closer inspection this is a cover for something more sinister. You open up the friendly chunky orange top and there is a space for the blade, which was wrapped in paper in the packet. Put together its more like a my-first-razor for Sweeny Todd's son.
We got onto the beach from here and the tide had gone out (it was that time again...) to reveal a huge amount of black rocks. The sky had gone cloudy and menacing. As Dan put it, it looked like the end of the world, which sounds dramatic but when only hours before it was blue sky, sparkling sea and yellow sand, it was quite accurate. It looked like the sea had seen the grey clouds and decided to move somewhere else.
Huge storm tonight which kept me awake, along the the frogs who were going crazy.
