Dan and Lu's Travels
Having spent a suprisingly cold night in the van we got up and drove to the Jenolan Caves, about 25km down a steep winding road. The view was very dramatic, with the Blue Mountains in the distance and huge valleys, all covered n forest. The Blue Mountains get their name from the blue haze they give off, which is due to the eucalytus trees' oil vaporising.
The caves were impressive; and we walked along the river path for a while before realising we should get to the next place to stay before it got dark! Its going to take some getting used to!
The scenery which we had missed last nght in the dark was lovely. Massive lanscapes, rolling fields and trees dotted everywhere. And hardly any houses!
We picked up some bread in Katoomba and stopped at a bottle shop and bought soem wine (so cheap!). Again it was dark by the time we got to our rest stop but we put the headlights on and used the brick table provided to cook. This was bizarre. We had a lovely meal of spaghetti with cheese (tinned of course), bread and red wine. Yummy... It was funny!
