Dan and Lu's Travels
Caught a train and a bus to the Wicked depot in Botany. It was full of vans waiting to be picked up before Easter.
Wicked vans aren't normal white campers. They all have their own individual paint job. Ours is what she caled 'the arty one'. Not sure what she meant by that as there were others there that were more artistic. Think she meant to substitute 'arty' for 'wierd', but we love it!
Its an automatic so Dan found it strange at first but says its easier to drive. After all tht effort to pass my test before comign away I can't drive it because I haven't been passed a year yet!
She loaded us up with a map which details where we can camp, bedding, cooking and washing stuff and we were off! Found a supermarket and stocked up and found where we were going to head for in the the Blue Mountains National Park, and headed out of Sydney.
Like everyone else was. Easter weekend had started early as everyone was trying to get out before the rush.
Now this will sound stupid, but Australia is BIG! That did sound stupid didn't it?! We drove about 170km and kept thinking, from place to place, its just a bit further; but everything is so far from each other. You really ge a sense of the size of a place when you are drivng yourself.
Our rest area was in the middle of the forest and it was dark. So we didn't cook, we just went to sleep. It was wierd.
