Arrived in Shanghai around 9AM on our first overnight train which was a strange experiance considering it took 12 hours but although we slept for 10 hours we still felt weary and tired. Met a nice lady who spoke some English and tried to explain the train ettiquette to us. Were a little more organised to our hotel destination here after the experience of Beijing and found it much easier using the Metro and then a short Taxi ride. The hotel was really nice considering it was £20 a night and in a very good location to see things.
The main part of Shanghai is the Bund which is the main river running through the city, one side is where all the tourists and old European buildings are and the other is all the modern skyscrapers that are lit up at night. This part was really interesting to see as there is nothing like it back home. The rest of the city was a little dissapointing with a few good parts here and there such as the history of Shanghai museum and the cloud 9 bar which was 87 floors up.
Would probably visit again given the chance but only on holiday with a larger daily budget.....SCORE 6/10
