After another late night we didn't get out of bed until 1pm again. We didn't drink much last night so were feeling ok although Jac wasn't feeling 100%. We had some street food then wandered along Kaosan where Jac dropped off a dress to be altered. We then both went for manicures & pedicures because it was so cheap, although they did laugh when I said I wanted one as well. But damn don't I look pretty now. We then found a currency exchange where we could get some American dollars for our border crossing into Laos & Cambodia in the next week. Darkness had descended as we headed back to the dress maker but we were told to return in 30 mins. We decided we should drop off the backpack & the money to the room. On the way back I found a guy selling laser pointers & I managed to haggle him down to a good price. These lasers are actually banned from being purchased in oz, but Jacs dad had bought one in Athens & I had wanted one ever since. These things are crazy. The green light can be used on a target a kilometre or two away & I'm pretty sure you could knock cats out of trees with them. All this on 2 triple A batteries. We returned to the room & dropped off our booty before a quick return to the dress maker & back again to leave it in the room. We had decided to head to Chinatown then so hailed a taxi which took 10 mins to get there. We went to a place for some yum cha which was a nice change from Thai food then wandered along the street looking at all the stores. We noticed that no matter where you are in the world, Chinatowns all look the same. We had a dessert of banana pancake type things before returning back to Kaosan a little underwhelmed. Here we pulled up a chair at Georges bar, which had become our local, & got chatting to Anthony, an Aussie guy, & a South American girl, who we had made friends with over the last couple of nights. We were joined by a few kiwis but I missed most of the conversations as it was 11pm & as tomorrow was our last full day in Bangkok, we wanted to do a tour. I left Jac to it & went searching for a travel agent. Thankfully I found one that was still open & got us on a tour departing at 7am. I returned to the bar to tell Jac the good news, said our goodbyes to the group, & returned home to try & get 5 or 6 hours sleep before a big day tomorrow.
