After saying our goodbyes to Fred and DABUS2 we left Winton and headed out from Benella and checked some impressive Silo Art on our way to Tocumwal.
The first Silo art was at Goorambat which had only recently been completed by Jimmy DVate, who has painted a sunset country scene on the metal silo and a giant Barkers Owl, Milli on the contrete silo. The local Uniting Church also has a mural painted by Adnate (Sheep Hill silo artist).
Devenish was the next town we called into, the silo's here have been painted by Cam Scale with a WW1 nurse and a modern military medic.
Tungamah has the last silo art which was painted by Sobrane which is 3 brolgas and a kookaburra.
We spent one night at Apex beach, Tocumwal, before meeting up with Clive 10km west of Echuca at Wills Bend. Clive had bought up his boat, so fishing was the order of the week.
The week consisted of fishing, a few trips into Echuca for supplies and lunch one day. Walks along the Murray were very peaceful, relaxing, listening or reading books. We have just discovered audio books, so listened to books during our walks.
Our nightly entertaiment was watching the three brushtail possums, come down at night scavering for food.
The weather was cold overnight with pleasant days.
A couple of Murray Cods were caught but were all undersize, so back they went. One yellowbelly jumped onto Clives rod, so we enjoyed fish for lunch that day.
Sunday morning we said our goodbyes to Clive, as he was heading home. Again we enjoyed more yellowbelly for lunch with both Hayley and Luke, who had come out from Echuca to catch up with us.

Cuppa Good to see you on your way. Sobrane is the partner of Tv Astronomer Greg Quicke, both from Broome. They are friends of friends of ours, we all met up when down in Tassie, just after Sobrane had painted the Brolgas. Apparently she is the only mural artist who did the silo without using a grid to guide her, just got up there & did it! I did wonder about Brolgas in Victoria, but apparently they do visit. Have fun.
Alan and Lorelle Gday Cuppa Thanks for your comments, taken me forever to figure out how to reply on blog. We are 200k from WA border, bloody chilly, we now realise how good it is to go north to the warm weather. Hope you and Julie are on the road soon Regards Alan and Lorelle
