Ship life
Guys, long time no post, sorry for that, the internet on the ship is expensive and slow... Now I am sitting in an internet Cafe in Cozumel after finishing my shift at 6:30 ship time.
That's how I work every day, get up at 5:30, finish at 6:30 to 7:00. Day off doesn't exist here, only like once a month or so I will get a half day off, which means work only 6 hours.
Guy from South Africa teaches me now how to take care of the pools and how to make all the 10 guys work. They are from Indonesia, Philippines and Peru and they work hard, so it's all good.
When I was hired, I was told my contract is for 6 months, now they changed it to 9 months. That means I should be done in December. Therefor sorry to you guys who had plans with me (Srogi, California, etc...)
Working all the time and having no time off means, that I can't really plan to meet up with anybody, unless you book a cruise with Carnival Liberty (1 week western and 1 week eastern Karibik).
Now the positive things: food is good and there is a good gym here and sauna and steam room, that I can use, cause I am staff and not crew. Also I use crew training center to improve my spanish. There is a bar here, that has Fussball table and Pilsner Urquell beer:)
Ship life ain't easy;)
Yeah and they made me shave my goatee!!!!!!!!!!! :'(
more update to come when I am less tired:) Ask me question too, so that I know what to write about;)

Mothers are always right Don't Worry, Be Happy!!
Little sis Hey you, Pirate of the Caribbean Sea :) You look 10 years younger without that beard!!! Working 12 hours 7 days a week is not too bad, I did that 2 weeks in January and survived ;) Remember that you can always come back, work 8s in Agrio and have free weekends with longboarding ;)))) I have 5 questions: 1) What exactly is the difference between staff and crew? 2) Tell us something more about the guy you sleep with... 3) When there will be some photos from your everyday life? 4) What is the work look like? 5) Did I get it right that you have 9 months work and 6 months off instead of originally planned 6 months work and 3 months off? :)
Gem JJ with no goatee! Don't believe it... R u coping ok? Any goatee withdrawal symptoms?
Streitcar Hey Jiriku, that is so funny. First the goatee and then 9 months of hard work. I cannot stop laughing here. Are you on a training ship or is it a real deal? How many staff, crew and passengers? Are you in charge of pools? Anything else? Do you have time to visit ports? Take care and have fun.
Streitcar You sure are on a big one: Carnival Liberty Cruise - Statistics Weight: 110,000 tons Length: 952 feet Width: 116 feet Passenger Capacity (based on double occupancy): 2,974 Crew: 1,160 Registry: Panama
