Mt Vesuvius...more specifically Pompeii. Today we went on a guided tour of this ancient place. It was so hot and dusty but that's what u get when u visit ancient ruins.

We travelled to Pompeii from Rome leaving early on the Contiki bus. We drove through Naples and I'm not sure if it was just the route we took or if Naples is just not the cleanest town. One good thing about being on the Contiki tour is that u get to bypass all the cues, so we got to go straight in which was quite handy in scorching 35 degree heat.

A highlight of the tour was learning about the ancient civilization and how the town once operated. There were so many streets and alleys it would be easy to get lost ;) however it was all very much the same.

Mt Vesuvius is soo massive u could still see it from Sorrento. We didn't get to climb the giant volcano (which I am glad about) however I thought it was further away from Pompeii than I imagined.
