A walking day again this time in Greenwich Village. After getting tickets for The Book of Mormon musical tonight we caught the subway downtown and meandered around the streets. Lots of eclectic shops, cafes and coffee shops particularly in the narrow leafy side streets. Lunch at a little "beer bar" in Bleecker Street which had about 30 beers on tap from all over the world. Then back to midtown for a bit of shoe shopping, afternoon rest and now off to the theatre...

Another walking day. Caught the subway to the top of Manhattan and walked for 3 hours through the streets of Harlem. Is it safe you say? - very much so and the people are very friendly and helpful and proud of their heritage and the Harlem District. Sleep in today and didn't head out till about 1pm. Then lots of walking again - uptown to Rockefeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall, Fifth Avenue, lunch in Central Park, Madison Avenue, Guggenheim Museum and then subway back to the hotel for a late afternoon nap. Walk to Central Park and meandered around there for a couple of hours then subway to Madison Square Garden to see New York Knicks v Miami Heat. Good game but the Knicks lost. Great entertainment - Boyz2Men sang the opening USA anthem to the cheers of the locals - Carmelo Anthony and Le Bron James played on each other for most of the game and both played well - raises the bar a tad on basketball in Aus!?!?
