Ended today with a hike up Lykovittos Hill. It's the tiger thing, I can't seem to let the highest vantage point go. The views pretty amazing from the top though.

Ok, Acropolis Museum it was (the weathers not its usual sunny self here today) and it KILLS me that I have no photos of it! The camera nazis' were everywhere! I ended up buying 4 postcards of my favorite sculptures instead. The museum itself was beautiful, 3 levels completely open, with glass and pale walls, with the pieces of sculpture arranged in a timeline. Made the Acropolis and Parthenon make a lot more sense with all the background filled in.

Arrived in Athens last night and pretty much laid low, exploring my immediate area and finding a restraunt with delicious food called Mani Mani - yummy meatballs, traditional pasta and a dessert that was orangey and yogurty and just damn delicious. Today up bright and early to beat the crowds at the Acropolis, which was a good good thing as by 10am it felt like a crush! Then off to some other historical sites and the flea market before having progress halted by a...

Screw the plan! I am just not an island girl, there is way too little to do besides shop or bake in the sun! I spent the morning on Golden beach and that was enough beach time for me. Tomorrow I'm headed for Athens, which should have a hell of a lot more to do. And if I stay this far ahead of schedule? Well maybe there's a couple of trains from Thessoloniki that will detour me into other countries before ending up in Croatia...

In Paros today, waiting at yet another bus stop. Hey Dad? You really need to teach me how to drive stick this winter because finding automatic is a b**** in Europe. After exploring for the rest of the day I get to figure out how to call my bank from over here as all the machines seem to hate my debit car and I'll be running a little low on cash in another day or two. Here's hoping its an easy fix.
