Bonjour je m'appelle balloon crash survivor, it's Lao new year here so waters a big thing here at the mo, we had a few hours driving from vientiene to kong lor and the lads in charge of the tour all had water soaker 3000's so everyone we passed was gettin a face full and the Lao people love it but we had this couple on a tandem bike not from Lao and the driver slowed down and they got peppered and they dint know what was goin on matey lost his balance and him and his missus took a bit of a tumble we rolled up. We stayed 2 nights at some guest house in kong lor which was between these mountains and there was corn fields all around us and the first night we stayed there was a quality storm looked like somethin out of twister the sky's were orange one side which had lightning goin on and the other side was pitch black and the clouds were circling. At night you could see some torches in fields which is the locals catchin frogs after the rain so they can feed they're family so it's pretty poor here compared to Thailand. It's Dengue fever season here now which means the bugs come out to play and weve been told to check our shoes everytime we put them on for scorpions and spiders! Not what I wanted to hear so I'll be knockin the trainers on the head for the evenings and flip flop it for a while. Our last night in vang vieng was a heavy one and at the restaraunt you have to take ya shoes off and leave them by the door, this one geezer couldn't find his flip flops so asked the bar owner where they were and they matey just grabbed a pair off the rack and gave them to him ha so some other geezer was down on his foot wear. We went to a big cave where you take a narrow boat like the ones in Venice only with a tiny outboard on the back and you have head torches on and do a 7km ride through a pitch black cave and the water at most parts was only a few inches deep so we kept grounding out at parts and had to push the baby free. After that we had to cook our lunch which was a live duck and we had to put the poor thing out of his misery and you can guess who was nominated to do the dirty work! If anyone's seen the vid your see what I mean, if you haven't give me a shout I'll whatsapp ya but I'll warn ya it ain't for the faint hearted I was heavin bigtime. Then after the BBQ we had to play spin the duck where you put the ducks head in a bowl and spin it with a lid on and whoever it pointed to had to do a shot of this home made whisky which is made by soldiers and the stuff is lethal it hits you like a smack in the mouth and tastes like a acetone! We had a gekko the size of my arm in the corridor at our guest house and I thort it'd be a good idea to try smooth it but the lairy git squealed and bit me proper made me jump ha. We done a trip to a museum called Cope which is where they made the limbs for people who got bombed in the Vietnamese war and was pretty heavy stuff we watched a movie of a family where a few years ago a Lao bloke was cooking a BBQ on the ground for his wife and 2 kids and the heat from the fire blew up an unexploded bomb that had been layin there all them years and the bloke was blinded and mashed up from it so he has to look after the kids while his wife goes to earn the corn, then the translator in the movie broke down and my bottom lip was goin man it was heavy stuff I was strugglin to keep it together as were the rest of the people watchin. Tomoro were off to Tha Kek which is a 4 hour journey so were gonna be feelin fragile as we got a karaoke night tonight and the reps been promoted so he's celebratin so were gonna have a few shandys with him! The wifi is not as good at the mo so will add photos when I get a decent signal, hope alls good back home, also I heard peaches died!? Sad stuff man. Anywho I'll catch up laters much love guitar hero

Mum Hey mate. Was that a Honda engine I saw. Surely a career opportunity there. Your just not trying ! Ha ha . It all sounds really boring xxx
craigo33 It was a honda engine eagle eyes, the boat drivers fix the engines themselves so no need for engineers and they make average 17000 kip a day which is bout £1.35 a day, my wages were good after all!
