And so another adventure begins. We bought a camper last September with the intention of using it for a long trip. So here we go!

Vanda has taken a career break and I’ve stopped work, again.

Our plan is to tour Scandinavia for the summer and then travel south through Europe as the autumn approaches, returning home late October.

So we’ve started with a tour of the UK. The idea is to test ourselves and the van while seeing some of the UK and visiting some of the friends we’ll miss over the summer (sorry if we miss anyone).

So far so good. We’re getting better at living in confines of the van, sleeping, cooking, washing etc in a small space, really testing when it rains! The cooking is going well with our two gas rings and a grill. Not many visits to pubs for dinner yet.

We’ve had a new gas system fitted to allow us to tour without having to buy and return gas bottles in every country, there’s no standard gas bottle fitting across Europe. New tyres all round and a mobile internet device.

The weather has tested us too. Highs of 19 and lows of 2! We’ve bought shorts and then gloves and hats, but at least we know that the heating works.
