Hanoi is the craziest place on Earth! Upon arriving into the city it was how I imagined Bangkok to be...it was mental! People driving on Mopeds with washing machines strapped to them.. cars and people doing whatever they liked! It was a real culture shock.. I didnt actually think that i would be able to make it out of the place alive! Stephanie and I got a cab to the place where the others were staying. The journey in the taxi was ridiculously scary and my life flashed before me on more than one occassion! There were even random cows walking down the main road.. i thought i was tripping! I was so excited to see everyone when I arrived and it was the day after Lisa's birthday and they had waited for me before going out for it. We all got ready and went to a restaurant for some food and James had popped out and got a cake for her and ew all sang and it was such a great evening which was topped off in a Vietnamese club called ' Funky Munky' James who LOVES some good ol' funky house.. (like me, his long lost sister) had a dance off with this Vietnamese geezer.. it was so funny as the Vietnamese guy was taking it REALLy serious and James was bascially taking the mickey out of him! It was a great night out.
Next day we looked around this mad city and had quite a touristy day. We went to the lake and bridge etc and it was really nice although it was raining...as always. When we went to the lake this woman carrying bananas in those funny basket things over the shoulder took off her hat and then chucked the bananas on my shoulder!! It was so funny I was like ' what is she doing?!' I was with Lois and James and we all had a laugh and took pictures. They obviously then demanded us to buy fruit which was going to happen as the Vietnamese people notoriously rip of westerners. We got them down to an ok price...and munch our way through our pineapple and bananas! We then walked through a tradtional market. It was a nice day and we were leaving on a night bus that evening. We said goodbye to Crazy Stephanie and got on our nightbus....13 hours of bumpiness to Hue..nice!
