We finally arrive in KL as we said at 2am and headed straight for a cab..when we got to 'Haven Guesthouse' the taxi driver didn't have change so we made our way inside to get some from the reception... (ENTER HUGE MALAYSIAN MAN) he was half asleep as his shift was supposed to be over until us 2 annoying English girls turn up 4 hrs after last check-in, he really reminded us of someone.?! (Got it...its Hagrid from Harry Potter - you know the huge beast of a man that Robbie Coltrane plays..) So he didnt have change either and Jayne asked if he could sort out the taxi driver who at this point was getting extremely irrate! They started shouting at each other and as we hadn't swotted up on our Malaysian we had no clue what was going on! After a few minutes Hagrid won and sent the taxi driver off with our money to the shop to get change whilst he stayed with his car... so, Hagrid returns inside to check us in after dealing with the crazy cab driver.. cheers Hagrid! We had a whole 6 bed dorm to ourselves with our own shower and air-con..lovely.
The next day was spent mostly at Central Market...we walked dodging the cars and scooters who I am sure were aiming for us at one point...Needless to say that was the last time we walked anywhere due to paths suddenly ending and being stuck walking along somewhere that resembles a highway! Well, they like white girls...its one thing being beeped by nearly every car or scooter but we certainly draw the line and were embarrassed (yes Lisa was embarrassed- it takes a lot!) when a bus full of passengers drive past and the bus driver continually beeps and waves at us! ..The market was pretty nice and we bought some trousers so we can cover up when going to temples etc on our trip..After chatting to the woman at the Information desk we decided to get a cab to the Lake Garden - how beautiful does that sound? so we arrive and walk through the deer park and followed the map toward the lake. Half of it was empty and there were builders everywhere doing a lot of work. Infact we were the only two people visitng the park or shall we say building site. It was amusing but it was so hot that we just wanted to get back to the guesthouse. We found our only way out was to go through the NO ENTRY. We crossed 2 highways to get back to Sentral Station to get a taxi back..our driver couldnt find our guesthouse even when we presented him with a map which had a highlighted route on it from the city.. fun and games we tell you.. we arrived back 1hr later when the journey is 10mins teehee..
Spent the evening looking at the towers and the shops and decided to eat at 'The best steak in town' restaurant! The ship! It was amazing...we had a gorgeous dinner and a cocktail and it came to 5 pounds each.. bargain!
The following morning it was time to pack and catch our flight to Koh Samui to meet Will and Zack.. 2 lads from Nottingham who we did the Kiwi Experience with. We boarded the smallest plane ever in a thunderstorm, which brought on Lisa's nervous laughter AGAIN as Jayne had the straightest face you have ever seen. Landed safely and they wouldnt let us through immigration as we didnt have anywhere booked to sleep. The security guy told us to lie on the paperwork and off we went.
