Today we finished our last full day in the city of Athens. This is a city of sleeping dogs (everywhere), veg and fruit salesmen in pickup trucks going down the street like an ice cream van, very cheap and delicious olives (sold by the kilo!), great bakery's (spinach pie, feta pie, sweets, yummy), oh ya and this thing called the Acropolis. We have spent the last 9 days in the Cyclades or Greek islands. We visited 4 islands, all of them very different and individual. We had plenty of fun in the sun and met quite a few people along the way. The best part about the trip has to be swimming in the clear blue waters and eating plenty of Gyros (silent G). Just a quick one to explain our past 24 hours... Left Yambol very early on the bus to Sofia. Had hours to kill in Sofia so went in search of the Cathedral. FOUND IT! It is beautiful. Arrived in Sofia around 11pm and upon reaching the hostel we went straight to sleep as we were quite tired. The next morning we walked from the hostel to the train station to get our tickets for the train to Athens and just missed our bus at 11am to Yambol by minutes.
