Today we went to see the Cu Chi Tunnels, which are a network of underground tunnels that were built by the villagers of Cu Chi to escape the Vietnamese war. It was amazing how clever they were to dodge the American soldiers, and some of the traps that they left on the surface were genius, but a bit gruesome.... We had the chance to go down into some of the openings of the tunnels, which were tiny, so I didn't try it but Si wiggled himself in to a couple.... We al...

So today was a really early one as we arrived in Siagon by night train at half 4.... Just ridiculous. But it did mean for an early start and what was to be a full day at that. So we headed for the hotel, had showers and then for breakfast which was on the 9th floor on top of the hotel in the revolving restaurant. Quality views of Siagon.. We soon departed for the 2 hour bus journey to Mekong, where we were to jump aboard the boat... We headed out and it was still...

It's Christmas! And we started our day by all chipping in to donate to the local orphanage. We all put a few dollars in the kitty and headed off to the local market to buy some rice, oil, fruit, and toys for the orphans. The market was a really interesting experience, with live chickens in cages or on the street with their legs tied together. I did not like that! We headed to the orphanage, and Genevan got dressed into the full Santa outfit, with beard and everyt...

So last night wasn't too mad, still tired from the train and a late night meal so got to bed around 12 and rested for the planned boat trip. This morning didn't begin too early as we hired a private boat and was up to us .. So about 8 o clock we met and headed for the docks. The weather is improving, I mean it wasn't raining at least which was a big thing after a few of the days we have had. We jumped aboard then took an hour cruise through the ocean to a fishing...

This morning started with a group of about 20 delicate feeling people, I mean there were people still blatantly drunk, me included, not good when having to travel and with a back pack. But we soldiered on and got on the train to Nha Trang. We started at 10 and we are now well over half way.
